illumiNATION at Springbank Community Church gives the opportunity for children ages 3 to grade 6 to experience a worship service geared towards them. We believe that a child is never too young to learn how to worship God and to learn ways in which to live that would be pleasing to Him. There are two segments that children take part in: large group, which includes worship songs, prayer and a weekly lesson (these lessons are on a DVD and shown to the children); and small group, where the lesson of the day is reinforced by the small group leader through question time, a craft and/or a game. Children ages 3 - grade 3 go directly to illumiNATION before the start of the worship service. Children in grades 4-6 are dismissed part-way through the worship service. All our volunteers in illumiNATION are part of a team that is committed to teaching God's truths to children in a way that is meaningful to them. Training is provided and volunteers are encouraged to attend team meetings. Volunteers must complete an application form, which includes a reference check and a police check. |
Small group leaders (for all age groups) this position is for someone who can take what is taught and reinforce it in small group time through a question period, craft and/or game. All small group activities are planned and prepared in advance. Teen Helpers - this position is for teens who enjoy having fun with children.
